A blog to record the progress of our house ' do-er-upper' project. It will act as a memory book to record everything we went through on our house renovation project, the before and after and our trials and tribulations. Here's hoping for a nice and easy, straight forward, house renovation project!

Footings
Only one small problem found so far: the corner of the existing building didn't really have proper foundations... a bit of digging and some extra concrete and problem solved!
The only other event really was the quick decision that needed to be made as to whether we wanted deeper foundations or a tree removing. We've removed 5 trees already, what's one more?

Extension day 1
After weeks of torrential rain and fears that the extension would never get started, the day had finally arrived and it sends to be dry (for now...) Fingers crossed the weather will be kind to us!
The kitchen has been temporarily squashed into the study, albeit without any actual cooking methods. All the food is in there so It'll function as the preparation area to then be cooked outside on camping stoves and the BBQ. What fun!
Here's to another three months of disruption...

Final straight
All walls are painted, the radiators are back on, architrave is on and skirting boards are nearly done. Carpets have been re-layed expertly by father in law and the kitchen has been scrubbed intensely by mother in law.
The phone has been transferred to the new house which has annoyingly left us without broadband but I'm sure we'll survive!
We've started packing the current house and the loft is completely empty! The van is booked and by threw end of the weekend we'll hopefully be moved in!
And then... A well deserved week off I think!
