The joiner has been today and we now have a roof structure! Sadly there's no pictures as the nights have started drawing in and it's dark by the time I get home... Hopefully I'll be able to get some in the morning before work. We'll have a tiled roof before we know it; next step is a watertight kitchen!

Congratulations Paul, it all seems to be coming along nicely. Have you thought about which brand of finish you're going to use on your interior walls? I own a couple of rented apartments and I've been able to charge anywhere from £5 - £30 extra per month just from using Plastikote paint (http://www.uktoolcentre.co.uk/Shop/Decorating/Paint/Plastikote.html) It gives such a better finish and warmth within the home.
ReplyDeleteHi there, and thanks for your comment. It was a pleasant surprise as I'd only ever intended the blog to be a personal diary of what my wife and I have achieved/ been through/ endured! It's interesting to see it's found it's way into the wider web.
DeleteWe've given some thought to what we want in the kitchen, but to be honest the physical building will have wiped out funds for now and so I think we'll be living with bare plaster and a camping stove for the near future! We'll certainly look into plastikote as we'll have a lot of rooms to paint in the future!
